The 2011, 2nd Annual Ruderman Family (Fun) Christmas Card

Woohoo, it is my favorite time of year!  Laughter, family, friends, baking, wrapping, church, hopefully some snow too.. and let's not forget our family Christmas card!  Last year's card was received by so many of our family and friends with so much love and laughter we decided to forego our standard family photo and make the silliness an "annual"' event.

As we opened gifts last year, I was tickled with the pajamas I picked out for both my husband and son.  I was a little less tickled with the expressions on their face as they opened them, but all was quickly forgiven as they looked up to see the excitement in my face and the appropriate expression appeared on theirs!  HA!

This year as we were thinking about card ideas, we came upon a photo of a family who made a card much like this one.  I almost fell out of my chair laughing and couldn't help but think it was meant for us.. so with a great big thanks to them, we set about making one of our own.

I've had quite a few phone calls since the card arrived asking where we found all the old toys and how we get our Lucky boy to sit so perfectly for the photo, that I thought I'd share the fun..

Here are a few shots from behind the scenes:

First of all Lucky Dog is photographed separately from the family!  He is such a frisky pup.. I'd love to say he's well trained, but alas.. I cannot.  I can say he loves a good cookie!

Next, comes the photographing of the family..

I'm not sure they are going to go through with this again next year.  These are just a couple of the one million outtakes!  HA.. o.k. that may be a tiny exaggeration, but as you can see from photo number three, next year's photos will most likely also be taken separately.

It's not easy to get three people to all give the perfect expression when one is running back to the shot like a mad man with only 10 seconds to go before the timer goes off on the camera!

I add a few additional photos to the photograph in Adobe Photoshop.

AND then the final touches to bring you..
what we hope will bring you a lot of laughs!

From our family to yours,
Wishing you a season filled with the gifts of family, love and laughter!
